CELTIC KNOT GENERATOR

My final project for IAT437: Representation & Fabrication explored the intricacies of the Celtic Knot and how it can be recreated and transformed using a parametric modelling system. In this project, I used Rhinoceros5, a 3D modelling system, to create this generator with the help of my teaching assistant, Arefin Mohiuddin. I created the concept of the generator and worked alongside Arefin who helped me bring it to life in Rhinoceros5.
Even though 3D modelling using a parametric modelling system like Rhinoceros5 was a completely new experience for me, the process of exploring foundational patterns within parametric design helped me see the beautiful complexity of design systems and how they can be used to push the boundaries of form and space.
